Sanofi-Aventis (the makers of Ambien/Zolpidem) knew prior to releasing Ambien, Ambien CR and Zolpidem into the public, that people would hallucinate, blackout, etc. and attempt to perform complex activities while still asleep or in a semiconscious state (somnabolism and/or automatism). Both Sanofi-Aventis and the F.D.A. state this in their test results. Although the percentages are low, in my opinion it is still a criminal act to provide and promote such a substance without any warnings (prior to February 2008). And still to this day, why aren't there any relevant warnings on the prescription bottles?
